Meet the Team

Founder/Managing Attorney

I’m Lucky Sayasith, the heart and hustle behind Sayasith Family Law & Estate Planning, proudly serving families in Charlotte, North Carolina and surrounding counties. As a Laotian-American, my story began in a Thai refugee camp, where I was born to two young Laotian refugees—my parents—who fled their homeland as teenagers, met by chance, fell in love, and started a family against all odds.

Their courage brought us to upstate New York, where I grew up, before I ventured south to earn my undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. I later graduated from Syracuse University College of Law and am licensed to practice in both New York and North Carolina, carrying my family’s resilience into my work as a family law and estate planning attorney.

My journey to law wasn’t a straight line. A pivotal custody case early in my career showed me the power of advocacy to protect what matters most—family. That case, and my own experience as a mother to two incredible daughters, fuels my commitment to every client. Whether I’m crafting a will, resolving a custody dispute, or planning an estate, I approach each case with the same care I’d give my own family.

When I’m not in the office or courtroom, you’ll find me embracing life’s lighter side with my daughters here in the Queen City. I’m a self-proclaimed golf warrior - you might see me on the fairways, striving (and often failing) to keep the “f-bombs” at bay when my ball finds the sand trap—Charlotte’s courses are as humbling as they are beautiful! At home, I’m the queen of pranks, sneaking whoopee cushions under my girls’ seats, much to their eye-rolling delight. I’m also your go-to gal for a groan-worthy mom joke—ask me about the scarecrow who became a lawyer because she was outstanding in her field! HAH

As a proud Chuck Norris fan, I like to think I channel a bit of his toughness when fighting for my clients, though I promise my roundhouse kicks are strictly reserved for the imaginary bad guys in my daughters’ bedtime stories. Other downtime joys include whipping up Laotian dishes in the kitchen, reading, and exploring the great outdoors. My daughters keep me grounded, my heritage keeps me inspired, and this community keeps me connected.

At Sayasith Family Law & Estate Planning, I’m here to bring that same warmth, dedication, and (occasional) humor to your family’s legal needs. Let’s work together to secure your future and protect what matters most.
